BOYS BASKETBALL

Senior captain Louie Jennings collected 28 points and 12 boards as Walpole (2-1) took down Bay State Conference opponent Wellesley, 56-43.

In the South Shore League, Tremaine Perryman scored 22 points to lift Rockland (1-2) to its first league win over Cohasset, 53-46. … Tyler Lennox had 18 points and seven assists to spur Carver (1-1) to a 59-52 win over Hull. … Tommy Fanara poured in 25 points as Abington (2-0) took down Middleboro, 72-58.

In the Patriot League, freshman Trevor Jones netted 13 points to lead Duxbury (1-1) to a 42-38 victory over Quincy. … Amari Johnson erupted for 31 points and Ryan Vallancourt added 11 points as Whitman-Hanson (2-1) earned a 72-53 win over Hanover. … Nate Caldwell finished with 12 points and 5 rebounds, while Colm Geary and Nikko Mortel had 10 points apiece as North Quincy outlasted Marshfield, 58-50.

Sean Lansing exploded for 36 points as Sandwich came back to beat Nantucket, 77-71, in a Cape and Islands clash. … Jack Watson dropped 23 points as Falmouth (1-2) defeated Monomoy, 45-31.

Luke Rinaldi and Brian Olson scored 15 points each, while Zach Spellman added 13 points in a balanced effort for Dover-Sherborn (2-1) as it topped Dedham, 50-43, in the Tri-Valley League. Jack Catalano had 12 points as Millis (1-2) edged Bellingham, 48-47.

In a Catholic Central matchup, Anthony Coke notched a double-double with 20 points and 10 rebounds as Cathedral (1-2) won 70-63 over Arlington Catholic. … Jason Romans collected 24 points,11 rebounds, eight assists and eight steals as Bishop Fenwick (2-0) defeated Austin Prep, 74-62.

Shea Ullo put in 29 points for Bourne (1-1) as they won 82-71 over Case in South Coast Conference play. … Josh Keller finished with 20 points and five rebounds while Nate Levesque added a double-double (12 points, 14 rebounds) as Apponequet (1-2) edged Somerset Berkeley, 55-51.

Josh Campbell collected 37 points and 16 rebounds, while Kevin Hamilton scored 23 points as Archbishop Williams (3-0) defeated O'Bryant, 74-68, in overtime in a nonleague showdown. … Lenny Tangiashaka had 13 points, while Isaiah Michel and Camden Rainford added 10 points each as Randolph (1-1) defeated Milton, 52-33.

GIRLS BASKETBALL

In a nonleague contest between two highly-touted programs in the state, Camryn Fauria (15 points, eight assists, seven rebounds) and Lydia Mordarsky (15 points, seven rebounds, five assists) shouldered the load offensively, as Bishop Feehan (3-0) pulled away for a convincing 59-36 victory over Bridgewater-Raynham. The victory for the Shamrocks snapped a 14-game winning streak for the Trojans dating back to the start of last season. … Amiyah Peters finished with 27 points and 7 assists as Mashpee (2-0) outlasted St. John Paul II, 51-35.

Grace Oliver scored 31 points as Norwell (4-0) bested East Bridgewater, 56-46, in South Shore League play.

Sam Ryan drained the game winner in a double-double (13 points, 10 rebounds) performance as Tewksbury (1-1) stunned Lowell, 43-42, in a Merrimack Valley contest. … Cam Watkins dropped 18 points and Ashlee Talbot had 16 points as Dracut (2-0) routed Methuen, 72-21.

In Tri-Valley League action, Hana Skeary put in 17 points as Dover-Sherborn (1-2) defeated Dedham 60-47.

Perry Blasetti recorded 27 points as Hingham (3-0) downed Pembroke, 58-46, in Patriot League action. … Senior captain Lauren Dunn scored 20 points, burying six three-pointers to help Whitman-Hanson (3-0) defeat Hanover, 53-34. …Molly Donovan had 17 points, while Lucy Laviolette added 11 points as Duxbury (3-1) topped Quincy, 46-44.

CLASS NOTES

Oliver Ames boys soccer coach John Barata has been selected to receive the 2020-2021 Massachusetts Interscholastic Athletic Association (MIAA) Coach of the Year Award for soccer.

Barata has coached the boys varsity soccer team at Oliver Ames High School for 13 seasons. In that time, he has led the program to a 169-44-40 record, 12 MIAA state tournament appearances, three state championship appearances and one state championship title.
